January Weapons Training!

posted Dec 24, 2009 10:20 AM by Luke Jones

Beginning in January the Tuesday 7:00pm class will focus on single ssahng jeol bong.  Also known as nunchucku this weapons original purpose was a farming tool.  It was later adopted as a fighting weapon in times of war.  In modern times it has been showcased in action movies and martial arts demonstrations.  I look forward to helping all my students learn to use the ssahng jeol bong and grow as martial artists!

The weapons we use are padded to ensure everyone is safe.  Along with learning the physical skills of handling the weapon, we will also discuss proper respect for our weapons.  It is important that everyone understands that these weapons are not toys and are not to be used inappropriately.  After completing this training students will be prepared to participate in weapons competition at all ATA tournaments!

If you need to purchase a ssahng jeol bong we have them for sale at the club.  Only ATA approved weapons will be allowed in class.  I hope to see everyone participate in our weapons class this January prepared to do their best.
